I can’t tell you how many times in my life that I’ve faced an “impossible” situation, only to have it miraculously dissolve, untangle, disappear, smash to the ground, be resolved, without any effort on my part but getting on my knees and telling God how “impossible” it was.  Shamefully, even after all His intervention in my life there are still times that doing things in my power seems appropriate.  “Oh, this is too small for God to worry about it.  I’ll take care of it.”, I say to myself, only to find I’ve messed up even the small things.

Nothings to big or to small–let God open ALL your doors! (doodle #8, done in 2014.)

As a Christian, there is literally NOTHING we should be doing in our own power.  After all, Christ is living in us, right?  I was actually thinking about this as I woke up this morning.  I was thinking how amazing it was that Jesus seemed to know everything before it played out.  He knew what was in man’s heart.  He wasn’t just your everyday sports caster spouting off obvious statements like, “He’s thinking to himself, ‘I’ve got to get the ball down the field and score’.”  Duh!!! Isn’t that the point of the game?  No, he actually knew the intent and motive of the heart.  How?  Because He was FULLY GOD and FULLY MAN.  And yet He still submitted, knowing all things, and knowing the pain it would cause Him.  Why would He do that?  Because He knew there was a bigger picture, salvation.  That’s God’s motive after all, our salvation.  So, keep this in mind when things don’t seem to be going right–

When you are brought face to face with a difficult situation and nothing happens externally, you can still know that freedom and release will be given because of your continued concentration on Jesus Christ.  Your duty in service . . . is to see that there is nothing between Jesus and yourself.  Is there anything between you and Jesus even now?  If there is, you must get through it, not by ignoring it as an irritation, or by going up and over it, but by facing it and getting through it into the presence of Jesus Christ.  Then that very problem itself, and all that you have been through in connection with it, will glorify Jesus Christ in a way that you will never know until you see Him face to face.

Get with Jesus regarding EVERYTHING–pray without ceasing.  Let Him be your Personal Super Hero–cast out the “impossible” in your life and vocabulary.
