Be Reconciled Together–Not Broken

I can’t say this better than Oswald Chambers–

Reconciliation means the restoring of the relationship between the entire human race and God, putting it back to what God designed it to be.  This is what Jesus Christ did in redemption.  The church ceases to be spiritual when it becomes self-seeking, only interested in the development of its own organization. . . We are not here to develop a spiritual life of our own, or to enjoy a quiet spiritual retreat.  We are here to have the full realization of Jesus Christ, for the purpose of building His body.

The whole picture is more beautiful when we all remain in it.

The whole picture is more beautiful when we all remain in it.

In other words–don’t put a crack in the plans Jesus had of making us one at/on the cross–one church, one body, one in mind and spirit–to KNOW HIM.  Holding strongly to doctrines that divide, proclaiming to be the church with the “truth,” and segregating ourselves out in the “name of Jesus,” undoes everything Jesus did–it leaves a hole and weakens the rest of the body by causing fractures that divide and judge one another.   And for those who are on the outside looking in–it makes the church not look very inviting–especially when we’re throwing stones at each others windows.
