For July 4th–FREEDOM–From Fretting

Fretting means getting ourselves “out of joint” mentally or spiritually.  It is one thing to say, “Do no fret,” but something very different to have such a nature that you find yourself unable to fret.  It’s easy to say, “Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for Him” (Ps 37:7) until our own little world is turned upside down and we are forced to live in confusion and agony like so many other people.  Is it possible to “rest in the Lord” then?  If this “DO NOT” doesn’t work there, then it will not work anywhere. —Oswald Chambers

Jesus has you surrounded and held--don't fret.

Jesus has you surrounded and held–if He can hold the world He can hold you and your world too.

The ONLY way to have freedom from fretting is by setting preconceived ideas or control of your life or others aside and letting God manage things.  When a fret starts coming in, mentally place that fret back into God’s hands and LEAVE IT THERE!  Do it over and over again if that’s what it takes, just do it!  If God can keep the universe in orbit and hold the world in His hands, certainly, He can manage your life better than you can.
