Effortless beauties

Hummmmm, have you ever considered that?  Did you ever consider that God has a design just for you?  Just like all the varieties of lilies which serve a purpose of beauty where they are planted, He has a design for you, where you are planted.  Where the difference comes in between us and the flowers is this–we overcomplicated things–we think.  They just ARE–and as a result, they’re beautiful.  They don’t consider how they can look or be any better.  For us, we have to know HOW we can be more beautiful.  We want a plan and we develop a way in which to be beautiful and pleasing–forgetting that Jesus said, stop and consider the lilies and birds.

Jesus said there is only one way to develop and grow spiritually, and that is through focusing and concentrating on God.  In essence, Jesus was saying, “Do not worry about being of use to others; simply believe on Me.”  In other words, pay attention to the Source, and out of you “will flow rivers of living water” (John 7:38).  —Oswald Chambers
