This was interesting to me.  I’d always been told that I needed to show God that I loved him by doing certain things or keeping certain rules/laws in His word.  What Oswald Chambers says today seems to fly in the face of the whole idea of “planning” what we will do to show our love.

If we try to prove to God how much we love Him, it is a sure sign that we really don’t love Hm.  The evidence of our love for Him is the absolute spontaneity of our love, which flows naturally from His nature within us. . . . The life of God exhibits itself in this spontaneous way because the fountains of His love are in the Holy Spirit.  —Oswald Chambers

So go forth with God inside and you won’t have to conjure up ways to love, it will be spontaneous, like a fountain bubbling over.

Be fluid and Spontaneous, love can’t be planned.
