As usual, Oswald Chambers hit the nail on the head of my experience. My spiritual journey has been one test after another. Usually the tests involve having to choose to let go of a preconceived belief or idea or hanging on to it and become fanatical. (I did the fanatical route for a while, no peace there.) I would guess He’s putting you through some tests too . . .I’d encourage you to simplify, let loose of complicated beliefs and ideas and just learn to S I M P L Y trust. That’s what it all boils down to.
Here are a couple of sentences that impressed me today–
. . . If we obey what God says according to our sincere belief, God will break us from those traditional beliefs that misrepresent Him.
If you will remain true to God, God will lead you directly through every barrier and right into the inner chamber of the knowledge of Himself. But you must always be willing to come to the point of giving up your own convictions and traditional belief.
Growing up in a church that “had the truth,” made it hard to give up anything–after all, if what I was being asked to give up went contrary to my beliefs than how could it be right? Would God lead me to give up “truth?” If the “truth” does not represent Him–YES he will ask you to give it up. Trust the Holy Spirit within and you will never be lead astray but you WILL come into a deeper relationship and understanding of God more than ever.
